What is 1V-LSD?
1V-LSD, also known as 1-valeryl-D-lysergic acid diethylamide or "Valerie", is a novel psychedelic substance from the lysergamide class that is structurally similar to LSD.
1V-LSD is a derivative of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), meaning it has a similar chemical structure but with some modifications. Specifically, 1V-LSD has an additional valeryl group attached to the nitrogen atom of the indole ring of the LSD molecule.
It is structurally distinct from LSD itself while retaining many of its pharmacological and subjective effects.
The modification to the chemical structure of LSD is relatively minor overall. 1V-LSD likely still acts primarily on serotonin 5-HT2A receptors in the brain in a similar manner to LSD. However, the addition of the valeryl group may alter the potency, duration, and receptor binding profile compared to LSD.
